Thom Verheul (1950) studied sociology and worked in mental health care and as a journalist. He worked as a producer and director of documentaries for various television broadcasters. For example, he made the documentary Tabee Toean about the emotional aftermath of the military battle in the Dutch East Indies. His late films focus on the friction between agriculture, biodiversity and politics.
