Presenter, program maker and science editor Anna Gimbrère graduated in theoretical physics from the University of Amsterdam, after which she started a career as editor of the National Science Quiz (VPRO). She then worked on various science programs, both in front of and behind the camera. In 2019, Anna presented a documentary series about developments in space travel, entitled ‘De Wilde Ruimte’ (VPRO) and in 2020 she presented the series ‘Bodem in Zicht’ (NTR) about mining and raw materials. In the summer of 2021, her own series ‘Anna’s Brains’ (VPRO) was shown in which she tried to answer difficult technical and scientific questions with young scientists and artists by experimenting herself. She currently presents the journalistic TV program ‘Pointer’ (KRO-NCRV). In addition to her own programs, Anna is a much sought-after interpreter of scientific news in various talk shows. Anna is an enthusiastic advocate of the importance of science and sustainable technology.
