Sessions full of inspiration: mobility, sponge cities and green innovations
Keynote speaker Marco te Brommelstroet got us thinking about the future of our streets and taught us the language of mobility. Additionally, Kongjian Yu, one of the most influential urban planners, spoke about the power of ‘sponge cities’ — cities that capture, filter, and reuse rain and river water through green spaces.
Alongside these inspiring keynotes, we have plenty of workshops XL, urban trails, serious games, science labs, classrooms, and more! A beautiful example of a future green city can be found across from the Beatrix Theater: Wonderwoods, Utrecht’s vertical forest.
Drinks & street food in the city centre
After a day full of activities at the Beatrix Theater, we wrapped up in the heart of historic Utrecht. At the iconic Mariaplaats and Pandhof Sinte Marie, attendees enjoyed a charming food court, delicious street food, and live music from around the world.
The evening was made extra special by the beautiful cloister gardens of the former Mariakerk, lovingly maintained by the residents of Utrecht. It was the perfect setting to relax, connect with inspiring people, and share ideas about the green city of the future.
