Trained as an Urban & Regional Planner at the University of Amsterdam Jan-Albert has a decade of experience on traffic advice for several municipalities. Since 2017 Jan-Albert is Noord-Holland’s expert advisor on cycling working for the province. Jan-Albert knows the region inside out and from the cyclepath. He works on the regional cycling routes along provincial assets, he advises cities on cycling routes, on the design of streets and helps them to set out cycling & broader mobility strategies. Jan-Albert advised on the cycling strategy of the Dutch Grand Prix. The Province of Noord-Holland is involved as the owner and maintaining body of one of the main access roads (+cycle route) to Zandvoort, as the public transport authority (bus) and as the environmental- and nature licensing authority for the event.
