Bruno Doedens
For more than twenty years, landscape artist Bruno Doedens has been investigating the dynamic relationship between art, nature and landscape. Dunes, beaches, dikes, canals and recently also a city centre are transformed into temporary, imaginative landscapes that are without exception large in size and number. Doedens not only plays with the size and scale of the landscape, but also with the public. They are participants and spectators at the same time. He encourages them to play and wonder by making the everyday extraordinary, and thus creates space for imagination. The temporary landscapes are not the same for a day and finally they will disappear completely. What remains is the memory, the desire. The landscapes have become places with an inspiring story and memory. His last major project Bosk has won several awards: the Dutch Design Audience Award 2023, Dutch Design Award 2023 in the Habitat category and the Event Innovation Award in 2023. The film about Bosk has been selected at several international film festivals and has won, among other things, the Audience Award at the Cineglobe Film Festival in Geneva (May 2024).
