ADRIAAN GEUZE – ICONIC PUBLIC SPACES AS NARRATIVES

Central Park. Boulevard Hausmann. Park Guëll. All iconic, world-class public spaces. These spaces are telling us stories: about who we are as a society, where we came from, and what we believe in. They give us identity. Within his presentation, Professor of Landscape Architecture Adriaan Geuze from the Technical University of Delft, focusses on the cultural landscape as a narrative. Geuze is internationally renowned as the founder and director of West 8. Headquartered in Rotterdam, with offices in Belgium and North America, West 8 has completed more than three hundred projects in over 60 countries, working across the disciplines of landscape architecture, urban planning and infrastructure. These award-winning projects include Govenors Island in New York, Jubilee Gardens in London, Toronto Waterfront, Madrid Rio and Rotterdam Central Station. Photographer: Maaike Engels
