Dafne Schippers

Dafne Schippers is a former top athlete, born on 15 June 1992 in Utrecht. From an early age, she showed her extraordinary talent in athletics. During her career, she achieved great international successes. Dafne won several European sprint titles, was twice world champion in the 200 metres and won silver at the 2016 Olympics. She also holds five Dutch records and a European record and was twice named Sportswoman of the Year. The ‘Dafne Schippersbrug’ is an extension of the street where she grew up in Utrecht. In September 2023, partly due to persistent injuries, she decided to end her impressive career.
